Heavenly Gifts – for Aries, Taurus and Gemini

Throughout the year, and particularly during the holidays, everyone is looking for that perfect gift to leave their friends, partners or workmates starry-eyed. This series of blogs will help you do just that, using astrological traits as a guide. Let’s begin with Aries.

Aries

The ram is a very active sign. People born in Aries typically like being fit and they’re even more focused on it when they know someone is going to be looking. So anything health-oriented is great – think food coop gift certificate, a work out DVD, or a gym membership. Additionally, as fire sign Aries love red things – from wine to clothing and everything in between items that favor deep-cranberry hues will please your Ram to no end. In fact, it might be fun to put together a red theme basket of some of your Aries’ favorite goodies. Tying to fire, also look for things that burn. Rich aromatic incense or uniquely crafted candles come immediately to mind.

The Ram nearly always loves flowers (yes, even the guys) but think along the lines of a potted plant so the beauty doesn’t die. The Ram has an artistic heart, and a true love of nature. Something that lives and grows combines two loves in one (hey, maybe a bonsai to feed that creative soul!). One word of warning, make sure the pot isn’t something overly sweet. The Ram isn’t a sign that goes for a lot of cutesy items. They’re more pragmatic than that. Instead, look to gold or bronze tone pots (this ties into fire too).

Speaking of pragmatic, take a look around your Aries’ living space. Are there any household items that could use a facelift? Unlike some signs, the Ram would appreciate good tool and treasure them forever. Try Shun knives, copper/stainless pans, or a new digital camera.

Next is Taurus.

Where the Aries has a practical side for gifts, flip that completely with Taurus – the more sparkle and sensual the better! I’d suggest a gift basket that has something the Bull can see, taste, touch, hear and feel. Go for a really lush cashmere scarf, gourmet candies or finger food, a small knick knack with lots of color, earthy perfume or cologne and a CD from a favorite artist. Having said that, if your budget is tight find ONE high-quality item and spend the whole budget on that item. Taurus does not like “over the counter” goods.

Something else your Taurus will love is if you give them a full body massage with some lush oils or creams. Turn down the lights, put on that CD, burn some incense and let your fingers do the talking. If your partner’s had any stresses lately (and who hasn’t) you’ll find they melt away. It’s a great way to present your gift! Follow the massage with a favorite meal made from scratch (or if you’re pressed for time, ordered from the Bull’s favorite restaurant). Remember to dress for the night! Let your Taurus drink you in with his or her eyes. What happens after that is up to you!

Finally we come to Gemini.

Because you’re dealing with the twins, you’ll find that there’s a lot of divergent possibilities (and what they’re really going to like may change moment to moment!). One thing is certain, Gemini’s have tons of personality and usually a lot of companions – so anything that helps them stay organized and in touch is one great gift idea (think PDA, cell phone, or a nice leather telephone book). The first two options also appeal to the gadget-passion Gemini’s seem to possess.

A must on your shopping list for the twins are books. I’ve found antiquarian tomes by favorite authors are usually a HUGE hit no matter which twin you have on hand. Second to that – consider an adventure of some type. Presenting your Gemini with an exotic vacation to historical or curious places will make them very happy, indeed.

Like Taurus, Gemini likes shiny and unique things so definitely look for rare and hard-to-find items (coins are one option). And if you’re hoping to occupy the Twins with some good brain food, get puzzles like soduko to feed that ever-hungry intellect.
